Picket lines will be up today at the bottom of the hospital hill here in Bancroft. The staff of both the Bancroft and Haliburton Community Care Access Centres (CCAC), will be present from 12:30 until 5:00 p.m. The CCAC staff which includes registered nurses, nurse practitioners, registered practical nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other allied health professionals, have been off the job since January 30th. They have been trying to negotiate a new contract since the last one ran out in March of 2014. Wages and a wage freeze are at issue.
