Loyalist College to Give Students “Hands-On” Taste of College Programs

On February 19th, Loyalist College will host 120 secondary school students for a “Taste of College: Science and Skills”. This is a hands-on opportunity designed to give students an introduction to post-secondary opportunities and College life. During this one-day event, grades 9-12 students will participate in two interactive sessions taught by Loyalist faculty. The students will also learn about College programs available to them after high school, and exploring the College’s facilities. Students can try their hand at building a roof truss, give and receive a nail treatment in the Loyalist Spa, practise dressing a leg wound on the Human Simulation Lab’s interactive mannequins, write their name in molten metal in the Welding shop, or choose from a selection of other Science and Skills focused sessions.
