Bancroft’s Annual Street Hockey Game a Success

The annual street hockey game in Bancroft was well attended and different. A crowd of about 100 showed up on a cold Saturday morning to play street hockey. A decision was made to play the games on the parking lot between Scotia Bank and McMichael Jewelers, allowing the main street to remain open to traffic. There were two main games, one for all adults and the other for youngsters and families. Both games were played for at least one and a half hours, while a third “pick-up” game began in the Scotia Bank parking lot. After the game was called, most went on to enjoy the free hotdogs and juice at St. Paul’s Church and then onto the Village Playhouse for more fun and a movie.
