A local board is working on a list of projects to keep youth engaged in Bancroft. The board made up of local youth is run by North Hastings Children’s Services and is the result of funding through the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Its goal is to reduce mental illness in youth and to keep crime rates low in the area. They will be working on projects like North Hastings Has Talent and a youth survey on crime and drug use. Results will be reported to town council later this month.
