Police charge a man after he tried to avoid a traffic stop.
Members of the Bancroft OPP say they saw a man make a U-Turn while they were conducting their RIDE campaign last Thursday on Hastings Street North in Bancroft. They say it was approximately 1:20 AM when the man tried to avoid them. He eventually ended up driving in the ditch further up the highway.
Police arrested the man and charged him for flight from a peace officer, driving while impaired and driving with a suspended license as well as careless driving and novice driver (B.A.C above zero).
A 26-year-old man from Bancroft was released on a Promise to Appear in court on May 14, 2019.
