Royal Canadian Air Force doing low fly-overs in the area

The Royal Canadian Air Force has sent out a notice warning that low fly-overs are being done in the area around CFB Trenton, CFD Mountain View and the designated flying area that goes from north of Toronto and Kingston.

That means you may see low-flying planes conducting search and rescue training missions and low altitude flight manoeuvres. In a statement provided to the MyBancroftNow.com newsroom, the Air Force says the planes may fly as low as 200 feet above the ground. If you do see a plane that low, they say not to worry because they ensure the training they do is done safely.

The RCAF didn’t give a timeline for when residents should expect the fly-overs to happen.

The Air Force does nearly 400 search and rescue missions in the region every year.
