Public Health receives funding from province to hire six new school nurses

The provincial government has invested $50 million to help with the hiring of 500 additional school nurses throughout Ontario.

The funding will allow Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health to bring six new nurses to the region to work with schools. “This is good news for our region, as this additional investment in public health will further support school boards and schools as they implement COVID-19 health and safety plans,” HPEPH says in a statement to the MyBancroftNow.com newsroom.

The nurses will support school infection prevention and control, surveillance, screening and testing, outbreak management, and case and contact management.

Public Health says they will be posting about employment opportunities on their website.
