There are now two active cases of COVID-19 between Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.
This is the second lab-confirmed case reported by Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health this month, and third in the last two. Before July, the last new case reported by Public Health was on May 18th.
HPEPH says the latest case is due to close contact with another positive case.
There have been a total of 46 lab-confirmed cases reported by Public Health since the pandemic began. 39 people have recovered after contracting the virus and five people have died.
Nearly 21,500 swabs have been done by Public Health.
