Coe Hill ATV Club promoting clean trails

The Coe Hill ATV Club (CHATVC) wants to make it worth your while to keep trash off the trails.

Event Coordinator Norm Lewis says taking care of the environment has always been a central part of the Coe Hill Club, along with promoting safe and family-orientated riding. Because of this, they have launched a contest to encourage people to pick up trash on the trail. Lewis says it’s very easy to bring along a garbage bag and keep the trails clean. If you see trash, snap a picture of it and send it to them. Prizes include gift certificates and t-shirts. Lewis hopes that this will encourage people to keep the trails clean, and even cut down on litter winding up on them in the first place. He says we only have one footprint, and wants everyone to pull together and try to do what little they can to give back.

To enter the contest, send them a photo of you cleaning a trail or road in the area to [email protected]. There will be a new contest every month, and it is open to all licenced and insured ATV and UTV owners. Lewis says you don’t even need to be part of CHATVC, but will welcome anyone who wishes to join.

ATV trails are scheduled to open up on May 1st.
