Bancroft hopes to build accessible playground

Bancroft hopes to build a new accessible playground at Riverside Park.

Council voted last week to allow staff to apply for an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant to make it possible.

A report from Town Clerk Jennifer Peplinski said the existing playground at the park is “beginning to deteriorate and is in need of replacement and extensive repair.”

The town has already received quotes from companies and options, which include accessible features such as disk swings and rubberized sloped surfaces.

The report says if the grant is successful, there would be no cost to the municipality, other than time commitments from staff.
