Moose FM Radiothon Friday will “Back the Cat”

Moose FM is asking you to “back the Cat” this Friday, Aug. 11.

The Moose team will be broadcasting ‘live’ at Paul Price Ford in downtown Bancroft in partnership with the North Hastings and District Hospital Auxiliary for our 15th annual radiothon.  All money donated this year will go directly to the Back the Cat campaign, raising funds to help bring a CT scanner to North Hastings Hospital.

The radiothon runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and donations can be made in person at Price Ford, online or by phone.

Early-bird donations are now open online through North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary’s Canada Helps page.

The Back the Cat campaign has been ongoing since spring, when the North Hastings Fund Development Committee announced it would ask the community to raise the final $300,000 in the overall $2.5 million campaign.

The goal is to fund the purchase of a Computerized Tomography Scanner, which is more commonly called a “Cat” or “CT scanner.”

It’s a machine that takes three-dimensional images that can help doctors detect brain hemorrhages, blood clots and other medical conditions.

This will allow North Hastings Hospital patients to receive “cat scans” locally, as opposed to travelling to hospitals outside the region.
