Check child vaccination records before new school year: Public Health

A new school year is around the corner, so now’s a good time for parents to make sure their kids’ vaccination records are up to date.

That is from Hastings & Prince Edward Public Health.

The health unit says parents can check and update their child’s immunization record online at hpechu.icon.ehealthontario.ca

They can also book appointments to get any vaccines they’re due for online through hpePublicHealth.ca/clinic/immunization-clinic.

Under Ontario’s Immunization of School Pupils Act students are required to show proof of vaccination for several diseases or show a notarized exemption. That includes diseases such as Tetanus, Measles and Polio.

For more information on vaccine programs, call Public Health at 613-966-5500 ext. 221.
