UPDATE: Woman charged with attempted murder

A Bancroft woman has been charged with attempted murder. 

Bancroft OPP say the 43-year-old was charged after they responded to an assault call at 2:30 a.m. this morning.  

When officers arrived on scene, one person was found with serious injuries.  

The accused is in custody and was expected to appear in a court in Belleville today.

No information about the victim was released. 

Police, this morning, were working at a Bancroft property where homeless people have been living.  

An OPP Forensic Vehicle and several cruisers were outside the Highway 62 riverfront property. The area is just south of the Bridge Street intersection.

A heavy police presence is at a Bancroft property where homeless people have been living. 

An OPP Forensic Vehicle and several cruisers were outside the Hwy. 62 riverfront property mid-morning. The area is just south of the Bridge Street intersection. 

Police could be seen speaking to people inside the area. Yellow cones have been placed along a nearby sidewalk. 

Bancroft OPP has yet to announce details but says a statement will be released later this morning.
