Hunters encouraged to report info on harvested black bears

Fall black bear hunting season is coming to a close in much of Ontario and Ontario Fish and Wildlife wants to remind hunters to submit two premolar teeth from each black bear harvested.

Hunters are also asked to submit the sex of the harvested bear and list the Wildlife Management Unit where the bear was harvested.

Those who report with an Outdoors card number, will receive an Ontario Bear Hunter Crest, as a thank you for contributing information that supports the management of Ontario’s black bear population.

Information on how to submit is in Ontario’s Hunting Regulation Summary, which can be found online.
