UPDATE: Mailloux-Poirier team win Rally of Tall Pines again

UPDATE: Sunday, Nov. 26, 9 a.m.

The dust has settled on Bancroft’s rural roads, following The Rally of the Tall Pines and a familiar team took to the podium as the winner.

Jérôme Mailloux and co-driver Philippe Poirier formed the top team at Saturday’s event, which took place in front of hundreds, if not thousands, of fans.

The duo, from Quebec, was last year’s winner, too. The team completed all the stages in 1:30.50.5.

In second, was the team of Jean-Sébastien Besner and Yvan Joyal, both Montrealers, in a time of 1:32.32.5.

The Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft is underway.

Hundreds of fans packed the spectator area off Bronson Road for early-morning races, where cars navigated turns in icy conditions.

Racing will continue at several locations today. The day’s champion will be crowned at an awards ceremony at 11:15 p.m. tonight at the Dungannon Recreation Centre.
