Bancroft has qualified for the judging round of the Hockeyville competition which will award one town in Canada 250,000 and the chance to host an NHL pre season game.
The top four towns will be announced on March 9th and voting will start after that.
We spoke with organizer Meredith Card who said the submission process for Bancroft was down to the wire.
“It takes a couple days for everything to kind of get approved and move through their system” said Card, “I wasn’t sure if we were going to hit the cutoff time for everything. It took four days for us to get that it was approved and it will be part of the official judging phase of the Kraft hockeyville”
Card said they also have lots planned if Bancroft goes onto the next phase. If not she said, “We have a great start for next year”
