UPDATE: Outage resolved at Quinte Health after operations impacted

Updated at 4 p.m. July 30

A ‘Code Grey’ situation that impacted operations for two days at Quinte Health has been resolved, the corporation announced Wednesday afternoon.

The outage impacted operations and rescheduling of appointments is underway. Quinte Health said their booking team is contacting patients and rescheduling all diagnostic imaging appointments cancelled over the past two days.

Only one surgery was cancelled due to the system failure, which has been rebooked.

President and CEO Stacey Daub said each team member stepped up in ways that reflect the organization’s commitment to patient care.

A hardware failure at Quinte Health is impacting operations.

The corporation, which includes four hospitals in the region, said their computer system is down and they have reverted to paper-based procedures.

Non-emergency procedures have been cancelled including outpatient diagnostic imaging (X-Ray, CT, MRI) and elective surgeries for the day.

In a statement, Quinte Health said their team is making every effort to contact patients impacted directly and you should go in for your procedure if you don’t hear from them.

Other services, including emergency departments, will be slower than usual.

It is anticipated that computer systems will down until late Wednesday afternoon or early evening.
