Carlow-Mayo Public Library’s murder mystery fundraiser supports kids programming

The Carlow-Mayo Public Library said about 80 people attended their murder mystery fundraiser this past weekend.

The “Evening of Murder” included a catered dinner from Hidden Valley Catering and a 50/50 draw – and the opportunity to solve a mystery.

They said they raised around $4,000 by the end of the night, and just over $1,000 of that will go directly to the library for March Break programming.

Library officials said the fundraiser was an attempt to diversify their funding, as libraries have limited funding options.

Moose FM’s own Derek Fraser was among the cast of actors who brought the evening to life. The cast portrayed a wedding party full of friends and family members – some of whom got along better than others. Once they discovered the body of the groom, Teddy, stuffed into a closet, the whodunnit began.

Guests were invited to guess who the murderer could be as the night unfolded – and some had multiple napkins worth of detective work written down.

Now, as to who the killer was – you know what they say about Vegas. What happens at an evening of murder…
