Friends for Dinner having holiday meal this Sunday

Friends for Dinner has a special holiday dinner coming up this Sunday.

Friends for Dinner invites community members to join them for a potluck-style dinner every Sunday behind IDA.

Kevin Taylor said they started hosting Friends for Dinner weekly in September of last year, and it’s grown into a regular gathering involving 12 big red tents to shelter attendees from the elements, a trailer purchased with donations and an abundance of food.

Taylor said the food is just a vehicle for the real idea behind the gathering.

“We’re about community and sharing conversations, getting to know people you would never normally have dinner with. Laughing, just everybody coming together for this potluck-style dinner every week regardless of weather and regardless of walk of life,” he said.

This Sunday, there will be a holiday meal, gift bags to give away courtesy of local businesses and festive music.

Anyone is welcome to join and reach out to organizers to co-ordinate on potluck items.
