Hit Canadian Comedy Screening in Bancroft!

A 2023 Canadian comedy whodunnit crime movie, Who’s Yer Father? stars Chris Lock as Larry Constable, a blubbering private investigator living on Prince Edward Island. He teams up with Rhonda Perry (played by Susan Kent) to investigate a black market lobster smuggling ring. It’s written by P.E.I. local Jeremy Larter and is described as a “love letter to the Maritimes.”

Premiering at the 2023 Atlantic International Film Festival, the cast also includes Jess Salgueiro, Matt Wells, Kaniehtiio Horn, and Stave Lund. It’s a cheeky story will haywire plot twists, lots of slapstick skits, silly, clever comedic moments, and lots of joy. Who’s Yer Father is the biggest Canadian film release on P.E.I. since 2003 and it’s popularity is sweeping the country! It has since been nominated for three Canadian Screen Awards and was the #2 English language Canadian comedy at the Canadian box office in 2023, just after Blackberry.

Jeremy Larter is an award winning writer, director & producer born and raised in Prince Edward Island. Most of his projects are set in the rural culture and landscape of his home province. His credits include two seasons of the Canadian Comedy award-winning cult comedy series Just Passing Through and the 2019 Canadian Comedy Award winner for Best Feature film Pogey Beach. His sophomore feature is the coast to coast theatrical hit Who’s Yer Father? The audience favorite was the 2nd highest grossing Canadian comedy at the Canadian box office in 2023 behind Blackberry, and was nominated for 3 Canadian Screen Awards. His projects have received funding from The Harold Greenberg Fund, The Bell Slate Fund, The Independent Production Fund & Telefilm Canada. He lives in Prince Edward County with his wife and three kids.
