Bancroft to save thousands from new waste collection program

The town of Bancroft is expecting to save a total of almost $100,000 after 10 years of introducing a new in-house waste collection program.

This information comes from Greenview Environmental Ltd, which also points out the capital investment for the project should be paid back within that time.

The project to upgrade the Waste Transfer Station at the Dungannon Landfill, and to bring waste collection services in-house by next year, is expected to cost about $400,000.

Deputy Mayor Paul Jenkins says that, although he supports the project, he is still concerned how the savings from the project were determined.

Bancroft council will be creating an ad-hoc committee to review the cost of the new Blue Box Optimization project.
