Madawaska Valley taking flood precautions

The Township of Madawaska Valley says it will provide sand bags to residents who request them due to flooding.
Operations Manager Hilary Kutchkoskie says there are concerns regarding spring thaw water making its way down from Algonquin Park into Bark Lake and the Madawaska River system.
Operations Supervisor Mike Phillips says Mcphee Bay, Annie Mayhew, Maika, Lower Craigmont Roads, Riverside Drive, White Pine Crescent, Ohio, Tamarack, Blackfish Bay, Pinecliff, Bleski roads, parts of Kartuzy Road and waterfront properties in the village of Barry’s Bay are areas the township is most concerned with rising waters. Other areas such as Dam Lake and Long Lake roads may also be at risk.
Residents may contact the Operations Manager, Hilary Kutchkoskie at (613) 633-6164 or Operations Supervisor, Mike Phillips at (613) 639-5313.
