A special weather statement is in effect, calling for up to 50 millimetres of rain in the Bancroft area starting Friday. Environment Canada says this could cause localized flooding.
Because of that, Hastings Highlands Operations Manager Adrian Tomasini says sandbags will be made available to residents affected by potential flooding. They can be picked up at the Bangor Municipal Works Yard at 35523 Highway 62, or at the Works Yard at 334 Y Road near Bird’s Creek.
Tomasini says it’s also important for residents to be on the lookout for deteriorating road conditions, like washouts and rutting, over the weekend.
