Public Health offers advice for flooded wells and cisterns

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is offering advice for residents that are worried about their well water.

Wells and cisterns can become contaminated and drinking water may not be safe after a flood.

If your well has flooded, public health officials advise you to use bottled water for drinking water, cooking, brushing your teeth and even bathing, until you can get your well water tested.

Boiling water will not remove chemical contaminants.
