The federal government is supporting Bancroft as Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee is celebrated.
It’s part of a $2 million fund the Government of Canada has created to support celebrations across the country. Here in Bancroft, the Business Improvement Area has received $2,500 for a Bancroft Platinum Jubilee Installation.
Further, the Town of Bancroft has received $4,000 from the fund. The money will be put towards the Veteran’s Banner Project, which will honour names on the Bancroft Cenotaph.
The celebrations are to mark Elizabeth’s 70th year as Queen. She is the longest-reigning monarch in British history.
