York River Public School says its Big Car and Truck Show last week was a success.
Dozens of community groups and car enthusiasts went to the May 30 event, which allowed students to learn more about the trades. The event even featured a military aircraft flyover.
The event coincided with York River’s earning of a Ministry of Labour and Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Grant for special student programming. Ahead of the event, students worked on their own model cars to show off at the event.
Principal Lynn Gould says the event demonstrated York River’s commitment to “Learning by Re-imagining” and she hopes the school will hold a similar event next year.
