Bancroft’s Main Street Makeover project should be “substantially” complete by the end of the month.
That from Mayor Paul Jenkins, at the start of Wednesday’s council meeting. In an opening speech, he updated the status of some Town projects.
He says the project, which revitalizes Hastings Street, will finish with tree planting and new vegetation added in the fall and next spring.
He also says renovations to the North Hastings Community Centre are nearing completion. The work, to add a new fitness and community meeting space, should be finished in the summer.
He also says final drawings are in process for the new library-housing complex, known as North Hastings Inspiration Place. That work is taking place as the town waits to hear back on an application to the province to make the apartments rent-geared-to-income units.
