Looking for a place to take off for this weekend? You can land at the Bancroft Community Airport on Sunday, July 9 for the Bancroft Flying Club’s Fly-in Breakfast and Barbecue Lunch.
It runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the airport at 522 Chemaushgon Rd.
The annual event allows the public to learn more about the airport. Flying Club President Lynn Davis says it provides a vital service for the community.
“This airport provides emergency services, should (someone’s) loved ones or themselves end up in a bad situation that they need to be airlifted to a proper medical facility,” he says. “As well, it provides all the emergency services for tornadoes or windstorms or hydro outages, or lost people.”
Davis says airplanes will be on display at the event and one company there will be offering rides for a fee, so people can get a scenic view of Bancroft.
