Bancroft has created a new leadership position, hoping to ensure many large town projects move forward smoothly.
The role is called Manager of Infrastructure and Capital Projects.
Mayor Paul Jenkins says the job has some of the same duties as the former Public Works Director position but has additional responsibilities.
He said the position makes sense, since the town has many big projects on the go, such as downtown construction and water-related projects.
“It’s probably higher level, as opposed to getting into the nitty-gritty and the day to day,” he says. “It’s more on the planning side and administration side of projects.”
The town has been operating without a Public Works Director since January. It’s accepting applications for the new position up to July 14.
