MPP announces recipients of Municipal Ice Storm Assistance

Some local municipalities are receiving funding from the province to help recoup expenses following an ice storm last March.

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee announced that Centre Hastings, Marmora & Lake, Stirling-Rawdon, Madoc, Tudor & Cashel and Tweed will receive funds through the Municipal Ice Storm Assistance program.

Bresee’s office said the ice storm on March 28, 2025 caused widespread damage, leaving 400,000 homes and businesses in central and eastern Ontario with no power.

Stirling-Rawdon Mayor and Hastings County Warden Bob Mullin said the funding has helped support cleanup and tree damage recovery in the wake of the storm.
