Marmora and Lake searching for new CAO

The Municipality of Marmora and Lake’s CAO and deputy clerk, John Connolly, has announced his resignation, effective Aug. 28.

“I have sincerely enjoyed my time with Marmora and Lake, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside an excellent staff team and dedicated council,” said Connolly.

“While this was not an easy decision, it is the right move both personally and professionally. I am thankful for the support I have received during my time here and everything we accomplished together. I am looking forward to what lies ahead,” he added.

Connolly has accepted a new CAO position with the Township of Algonquin Highlands, starting Sept. 1.

“On behalf of council, I would like to thank Mr. Connolly for his service to our organization and to our community since joining our team in November 2024,” said Mayor Jan O’Neill.

“We wish him all the best in his new CAO role with Algonquin Highlands.”

Council will begin determining the next steps for the job, with a focus on ensuring a smooth transition and continuity within the organization.
