Bancroft council is considering changing meeting times from mornings to afternoons.
Bancroft Chief Administrative Office Hazel Lambe presented a report to council Tuesday, suggesting that regular council meetings be held at 4:00pm instead of at 9:00am. Councillors debated the issue, with some agreeing that afternoon meetings would make for more transparency because it would be easier for residents to come. Others said this would make for very late meetings and that splitting them in to two may be the answer.
The change would take effect as early as January 1st, 2016. Council is looking in to the issue, which has been put on the Committee of the Whole agenda.
