Bancroft Council is moving forward with addressing possible infiltration into the town’s sewer system.
The issue has been a concern for the town for some time. Council has now voted to hire Infrastructure Intelligence Services Inc. to flush the town’s sewer system, and put a camera into it to take pictures.
Public Works Manager Perry Kelly says these steps will help the town address any potential infiltration problems.
Kelly says the company will be paid almost $55,000 for the work, having won the bid by providing the right services at the lowest price.
The project will be possible thanks to money set aside for Bancroft through Clean Water and Waste Water Funding. Any leftover cash will be put towards repairs that need to be done to system.
