After Feedback From The Community, Wheels, Water And Wings is Set to be Better Than Ever

“A lot of people have told us that they’re disappointed they can’t get to Bancroft early enough on Friday for the car show,” Executive Officer with the Bancroft BIA Jody Didier explains.

That’s why Friday won’t be the only day during the weekend-long festival to see the many beautiful classic cars in the area. From 4 to 7:30 PM on Saturday, you will have a chance to see all the best the area has to offer when it comes to “rat rods, hot rods, tractors, monster trucks, and more,” as Wheels, Water and Wings’ schedule puts it. At noon on Sunday, there will be a motorcycle show and shine and Friday will have its usual classic car show from 5:30 until 10 PM. Didier says the second show will be “just as magical as the Friday night show.”

All the car shows will be hosted on the main street, meaning Hastings Street between Flint Avenue and Station Street will be closed down. From 5:30 until 8:30 PM on Friday, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM on Saturday and 12:30 until 3:30 PM on Sunday.

Hastings Street North will also be closed from Flint Street to John Street between 5:30 and 8:30 PM on Friday, 4:30 and 7:30 PM on Saturday and 12:30 until 3:30 PM on Sunday.

The “Shake the Shield” Poker Rally is back once again. Didier says the Township of Madawaska Valley has signed on as a main sponsor. She says the event is designed to drive people through the communities in the region so having them on board is very much welcomed. “We’ve had excellent feedback on the route that it is, bar none, the best roads in the area,” she says.

The money raised from the poker run will once again go to benefit the local charity Kids in Need.

“The midway is an annual favourite,” Didier says. She adds that the airport will also be open for airplane rides on Sunday. She also highlights that bands will be on the main stage at Wheels, Water and Wings’ hub at 68 Hastings Street North throughout the weekend. “We’ve got music for everybody to enjoy,” Didier says.

The entire schedule for the festival happening from July 5th until the 7th can be found on their Facebook page.
