The Bancroft Area Stewardship Council wants to help you make North Hastings a little greener.
The non-profit organization has launched another year of its Tree & Shrub program, which offers low-cost tree, plant, and shrub seedlings to those who qualify. These can be used for reforestation, enhancing wildlife habitats, or making your shoreline a little more natural.
BASC Chair Ian Hendry says planting the seedlings is an investment into the future.
Although it depends on what you want, Hendry says most prices are around a dollar a piece.
All the money raised through the program goes towards supporting local projects put on by the Bancroft Area Stewardship Council. The non-profit organization’s goal is to create healthy, vibrant, and sustainable communities through natural resource stewardship.
