Despite the rain forecasted this week, the fire ban has no end in sight.
That’s according to Bancroft Fire Chief Pat Hoover who says he needs to see a lot more rain than what we’re getting to consider calling off the ban.
Hoover adds that with fires burning in Algonquin Park, it only reinforces the fire ban that’s on in North Hastings.
Hoover added that there have only been 10 to 15 fire complaints along one major fire in Bancroft since the total fire ban has been put into place.
Hoover said that there is no timeline for the fire ban to be lifted.
