The Old Tin Shed’s coat drive was a success thanks to the community.
Those are the words of Dagny Whitehead, co-owner of The Old Tin Shed, who tells My Bancroft Now that they were able to bring in 62 coats during their adult coat drive.
After a slow start in November when the campaign began, Dagny Whitehead says coat donations picked up in December to get them to their final total. “We could not have done it without everyone’s generosity,” Dagny Whitehead says.
“There is a need in our community to help adults who may not be as affluent as others,” said Janis Whitehead in November when asked why they were running this coat drive.
“Whether it’s an event like this (coat drive) or something for the animals, we quite often do events to help the community,” Dagny Whitehead says when asked about any future fundraisers or events the Old Tin Shed hopes or plans to run.
