North Hastings Quilt Show weaves into town this weekend

You may want to weave your way down to the Faraday Community Centre this weekend. The North Hastings Quilt Show and Sale takes place there on Saturday and Sunday.

The show’s organizer, Elizabeth Nadon, says it’s put on by the North Hastings Quilt Club, which has about 25 members, many of whom will be showing work. They hone their craft at monthly meetings.

“We call ourselves fire artists, because we quilt, we make handmade works of art, whether that be clothing or other decorative pieces,” she says. “The members of our Quilt Club are pretty dedicated artists. We are always looking for new styles, new techniques.”

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, at the Centre, located at the corner of Hwy. 28 and Lower Faraday Road. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children.

The Club’s meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month, starting at 9:30 a.m. from the Faraday Community Centre.
